Listen for the small
quiet voice.
The clear one that
Is certain.
It has never
led you astray.
You may have to ignore the louder one
telling you to be afraid...
When life gets hard
And your default reactive programs come on to rescue you.
Walk it off.
Let your feet carry you
Into the present moment.
Feel the world—that’s bigger than you.
Remember that you love
And are loved.
Focus on all you
Are grateful for.
When fear takes hold—it stimulates your brain
like an addiction.
Only the ease of contentment
Or the exhilaration of achieving your goal
can override that type of stress response.
So Walk it off.
Pump up your dopamine a little.
Instead of reaching for the
sugar or the caffeine.
Give and receive love
instead of reaching for chocolate.
And if you decide to have the sugar caffeine and chocolate,
Be kind to yourself.
You are dealing with a lot.
