From down here
I can’t see the sky.
Yet, I know it’s there.
The trees above me
Have a better view.
Magnificent giants.
They grow their leaves
In cooperation with one another.
Touching to share the sun.
Light sneaking through the canopy above
Hits my eyes gently with green.
I am fed.
Have I forgotten the simple things
That bring me health and joy?
They are still here.
And the beings that I love are near
Did I remember to let them know?
