Tread lightly.

The earth is alive.

Let your feet hear

The steadiness beneath you.

Offer respect,

To our earth mother.

Through her you are here.

To her you will return.

You have always

Been held.

Whether you’ve noticed,

Or gave it no thought.

Those who extract

Have been tolerated,

As the earth is fed

By something much greater.

But, she may need all of her energy

To rise and give birth.

Those who aren’t contributing,

May become expendable.

Soft steps my love,

Give as much as you take.

Your impact may ripple,

Much further than you know.
