Water running
Cars on the highway
Some in a hurry
Klinks, whirrs and taps of breakfast being made
Hammering sound every so often
From farther away
Feeling of a pulse in my chest
Steadily keeping time
The aliveness of morning.
My favorite space of in-
between
Some days the words come less easily
To these hands
On the keys.
So I listen
To the songs
Until I am given the next
Words to be shared.
