I Write for Me
Oct 04, 2021
Most days I get up early
For my dog Myles, he needs the walk too.
I drive to work and jump the hoops
For patients, hoping to make a difference.
I prep and cook the meals
For my family, wanting them to eat well.
I take the time to meditate and clear my field
For clarity, so I may be of better service to others.
I do the taxes and pay the bills
To maintain integrity and avoid bad consequences.
I check more texts, emails, and media than could ever be healthy,
To remain open and connected to others.
I record my gratitude and attempt optimism
To practice what I preach.
But,
One day each week,
I write for me.
Not to keep the blog schedule
Though it helps.
Or to make a million dollars
Highly unlikely.
Or even to change the world
How ever much I might wish to.
I think, when I look at it clearly,
I write for me.
To get all the words out.
To remember who I am.
To uncover my anchors.
To remind me of my passion.
For a moment of creative flow.
And, even when it sucks a little,
I feel better.
Thank you for sharing this moment.
