Of heaviness.

Consider sharing a smile

For a change.

Can you feel the sunshine

Greeting you?

The cat can--stretched

fully out on the cool floor.

The flowers can-their fragrance

Heavy in the air.

Sprinklers and kiddie pools can--

They sprout up like weeds.

Skin can--suddenly displayed in all colors

And dispositions.

Afternoon calliope can--

calling all kids to ice cream.

The summer is waving.

Will you wave back?

Or are you caught up in

Your head again?

Lost in the details of the past

Or imagined future.
