A Still Place

In the middle of my heart,

A still place.

It’s gravity anchoring me in

Sweet emptiness.

The outside world—

Less convincing.

Dark, warm, and mine.

This moment of quiet.

No problems to be solved.

Already complete.

Aware only of the sensation

Of my beating heart.

In this place of empty—

I am refilled.

A rest.

A pause.

Anticipation even feels

Too much.

Let it be.

All is well.
